Ok. I haven't posted much of ANYTHING at ALL. Yet.
My computer is being crazy/wacko about putting up pictures, so I apologize about the amount that I will be putting up (or lack thereof) in the near future. Not to mention I've been suffering from writer's block... so here goes nothing.
Just in case you might like to hear about my recently-celebrated 16th birthday...
I first graced this planet earth on September 25, 1993, at 11:27 a.m., to be exact. I was a chubby little thing, weighing over nine pounds. Nine pounds, five ounces, to be exact. I was the ideal Michelin baby.
I was also the first Andrews child to cause my parents to say "the kids" (with an s) instead of just "the baby." You know. When it was just baby Zachary, it was "Brett, could you give Zachary a bath?" But when I came along, that was no longer the case. It was "Brett, we need to give these kids some baths." Savvy?
I hope that made sense to most of you.
My birthday was not super crazy/exciting compared to many sweet sixteen parties you've probably heard of. That doesn't mean it wasn't COMPLETELY AWESOME. Because I submit that it was. Really.
It started out as a fabulous sleepover party idea, but my hope in that idea began to dwindle as the day of my party approached; most of the girls I invited had responded that they were unable to attend: due to illness, previous engagements, etc. I admit that I was sorely disappointed; nonetheless, I had already decided that it was going to be an unprecedentedly amazing birthday, so... I wasn't ready to give up on that.
My actual birthday, September 25, fell on a Friday this year. Convenient, eh? The day before, I only knew of two girls that had actually RSVP-ed that they were able to come. I ended up calling up a bunch of my guy friends to come over Friday for the evening part of the party, which they did end up doing. We played ultimate frisbee, apples to apples, and ate Mexican food :) We also enjoyed dipping various edible items (bananas, strawberries, pretzels, etc.) in chocolate, using the chocolate fountain my mom found at Target. That was divine.
I was planning on kicking the guys out, but they kicked themselves out that evening, using the excuse that they had a band practice to attend for church that Sunday. (Which happened to be a very true excuse.)

Then it was just me, Shannon, and Karsten. We gorged on the chocolate fountain some more (which I like to call "Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory in my kitchen" :) Once we could fill our poor little tummies no more, we got into our PJ's and had my birthday cake and ice cream. Apparently there is always room in a tummy for birthday cake :)
Next, we headed downstairs to the basement, where there were no glamorous decorations down there like there were on the main level--but it was still a great place to spend my birthday party. We took pictures, played pool, watched TLC, and listened to music. We even played such teeny-bopper games as Truth or Dare... we're just that cool. :)
(Should I stop making those smiley faces? There's just so much to smile about! :) There I go again...)
Karsten actually had to leave later that night too, since she had two auditions the next day and she felt like she would probably get more sleep at home than at my house that particular night. She was probably right.
Shannon and I ended the night by watching a chick-flick... which was interrupted a few times by calls from friends on cell phones. Don't you just love friends? :)
All in all, it was quite a spectacular birthday. Growing up is pretty sweet.
